Accra Technical University ready to move to it’s new campus by next week


The Electrical Engineering students of the Accra Technical University are expected to move to the school new ‘Mempe Meho Asem’ campus by the next academic year.

The new campus is resourced with the latest technological equipments that prepare students for the local and international job market.

The Accra Technical University campus ‘Mempe Meho Asem’ sits on about 160 acres of land. It currently has five laboratories for the Faculty of Engineering and Built Environments.

Such as, laboratory for Automated Engineering, Welding and Fabrication, Electrical Engineering, Interior Design and Computerised Numerical Control Machine Centre.

On a tour on the facility, the Vice Chancellor of the university, Professor Samuel Nii Odai said, “Engineering students will soon relocate to the new site. Currently, we have most of the equipments here and we are training some of the technicians.”

“However, the Electrical Engineering Laboratory, is ready and they are setting it up by Monday, July 12, 2021, it will be completed. So from next week we have the Electrical Engineers fully using this place.”

“The equipment for Mechanical Engineering as you can see, they are huge and delicate so technician has to go further training.”

Meanwhile, the university is embarking on tree planting exercise near the campus in line with Government Green Ghana Agenda.

Also, the staff and students of the university are expected to plant about 100 different plants species acquired from Forestry Commission.

The ‘Mempe Meho Asem’ campus was inaugurated in December 2018.
