Burnley 1-1 Arsenal

Arsenal suffers a devastating loss at Turf Moor as careless Granit Xhaka could not help but hand Chris Wood a beautiful opportunity to equal the score sheets.

Pierre-Emerick Aubayemang had put Arsenal in the lead after beating Nick Pope to give the Gunners an early lead. Chris Wood, however, landed Burnley an equalizer, after Xhaka’s careless pass made its way to him.

Hopes became high after Arsenal thought they had earned a penalty against Erik Pieters, but the “wicked” VAR denied Gunners the opportunity to extend their lead – as defender’s red card for deliberate handball was overturned.

Opportunities continued to present itself for Gunners, but Burnley side were ready to stop every shot at all cost.

Burnley maintains a fifth home win, placing 15th place, 7 points less than the last three, while Arsenal remains at 10th position in Premier League.
