Ahead of the Grammy Awards later in March, where Big Sean and Nipsey Hussle’s “Deep Reverance” will compete for Best Rap Performance, Sean unleashed a visual to the collaboration with the late Crenshaw rapper on Friday (March 5).

The HipHopDX 2020 Comeback of the Year nominee takes a trip across Los Angeles to various paintings, murals and basketball courts paying tribute to Nipsey. He calls on Snoop Dogg to guide him on the journey, as the West Coast legend cruises all over the city in a sapphire blue lowrider.

Frequent collaborators of Nipsey Hussle’s Dom Kennedy and Hit-Boy also make guest appearances in the Sergio-directed clip paying homage to the fallen All Money In boss. The bittersweet video arrives more than six months after its original August 2020 release. Nipsey was shot and killed outside his Marathon Clothing store in March 2019.

“This one of the most uncomfortable, honest songs I ever did,” Sean candidly wrote to Instagram regarding the emotional track. “I said things on here I thought I’d never say publicly, but realized that u gotta live and own all your truths, cause u can’t always count on that opportunity to be there.”

He continued, “To one of the realest, most solid humans ever made @nipseyhussle ! Thank you bro! You still blessing all of us! It’s deeper than 4Life it’s 4ever.”

After taking home a pair of posthumous awards in 2020, a win here would give the inspiring Nipsey Hussle his third Grammy victory while Big Sean still searches for his first gold trophy following five previous nominations.

“Deep Reverence” is nominated alongside Lil Baby’s “The Bigger Picture,” Megan Thee Stallion and Beyonce’s “Savage,” Pop Smoke’s “Dior,” Jack Harlow’s “WHATS POPPIN” and DaBaby’s “Bop.”
