A 51 years old man’s body, Osman Nafiri, has been retrieved from the Volta River, at Attimpoku in the Asugyaman District of the Eastern Region.
The news had left nothing but a state of shock for it’s residents and family.
The deceased had been missing since last Sunday, 11 July, with worried family and residents embarking on endless search.
The hope of finding him alive ended when his body was found floating on the Volta River on Tuesday, 13 July.
According to the news sighted by GhanaTalksRadio, a team made up of National Disaster Management Organization (NADMO), Police, Environmental Health Officials, moved to the area on Wednesday, 14 July, where the body was later retrieved.
The NADMO Director for the district, David Sosu, said, “the body is sent to Atua Government Hospital for Corona’s report.
“The necessary court process has duly been attended” he continued.
The body has since been released to his family for burial on religious and other grounds.
“He left behind a wife and two children” he added.
