David and Victoria Beckham reportedly caught coronavirus after going out partying in Los Angeles.

Several relatives and staff members of the couple are also said to have been struck down with the deadly virus, according to The Sun.

The ‘outbreak’ came after the launch of David’s new football club Inter Miami.

A source close to the family described it as an ‘absolute nightmare scenario’ that left Posh fearing her family were ‘super spreaders.’

They explained: “David was on duty for his club Inter Miami, and Victoria and the family flew down to support him.

“They attended a couple of swanky networking events as David had promotional duties, and were shaking hands and kissing fans and various club dignitaries.

“They then flew back to London, and were whisked straight to their Cotswolds mansion.”

The family celebrated Brooklyn’s 21st with a lavish party at their country retreat shortly before making another trip back to the States.

Brooklyn’s lavish bash on March 6 saw celebs including Stormzy and Emma Bunton mingling with the famous family.

Recounting how the diagnosis came about, the source said: “David started to feel ill and then Victoria developed a sore throat.

“At the same time, several of their team including drivers, bodyguards and assistants fell ill — a couple of them very badly so.

“Victoria really panicked and made the whole family quarantine rigidly for more than two weeks,” said the source.

The former Spice Girl is said to have been terrified her brood would be ‘super spreaders’ and did all she could to minimise their risk despite being unwell herself.

“It was a rough few weeks,” said the insider.

Posh and Becks went on to make a full recovery and are said to have checked in regularly with their team for updates on their wellbeing.

The thoughtful pair are even reported as sending ‘care packages’ to at least two staff members who were particularly affected by symptoms.

After keeping their alleged illness a secret, the Beckham clan were happy to update their online followers on how they spent the rest of lockdown at their sprawling Cotswold estate.

Fashionista Victoria was pictured ‘working from home,’ while the Spice Girl and her kids also filmed themselves clapping for carers on numerous occassions.

When the travel restrictions were lifted, the family headed off on family holidays to Greece and Italy.

The Sun reports that the family had swabs and antibody tests to make sure they were safe to travel.

The ordeal is said to have originated on March 1 when Beckham’s team Inter Miami played their first away game at Los Angeles FC.

David, Victoria, their four kids and Brooklyn’s now fiancée Nicola Petlz watched from the stands.

Five days later the family marked Brooklyn’s 21st with a huge party.

During lockdown, the family led the celebrities supporting NHS frontline workers and shared videos of them taking part in the weekly Clap for Carers event.

Victoria even spoke to two teams of health workers and told her Instagram followers at the time: “We all need to do our part in staying home and helping these incredible workers and their colleagues on the front line.”

Mirror Online has approached David and Victoria’s representatives for comment.
