Consultant Urologist at the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital, Dr. Bernard Toboh, has detailed on the forms of erectile dysfunction that many people fail to consider.
In an interview with Nana Yaw Odame on Men’s Lounge aired on eTV, he defined erectile dysfunction as when a man is unable to achieve or maintain an erection, and in some cases, a combination of both.
“Men will tell you that they’ve been able to reach a certain length at sex but it’s a lie, and this will only trigger their wives to comment the true situation”, he jokingly said.
Making the forms of erectile dysfunction more known, Dr. Bernard revealed that this is not only when a man is unable to have an erection. He commented that for some people, they do not even have the desire to have sex.

“When you look at the sexual cycle of males, first of all, you need the desire, which will culminate into what we call arousing and then, sex comes in, which will lead to climax or orgasm.
Throughout this cycle, people can have disorders either of the desire, which is known as low libido. Someone may also have an arousal disorder. You can see a naked woman or something that is suggestive but you won’t feel anything inside you. Then, there are people who also ejaculate too quickly or it takes a long time to ejaculate, or nothing even comes at all. What we call dry orgasm”, the learned doctor educated.
According to Dr. Toboh, there are also some people who can have the desire and be aroused but as they’re in the process of having sex, the erection suddenly drops.
This, as well as the aforementioned problems, are all forms of erectile dysfunction, hence the inability of the penis to erect, is not all there is to erectile dysfunction.
