#FixTheCountry agitators embark on peaceful protest today


The much anticipated #FixTheCountry movement kicks off today, Wednesday, August 4, 2021.

The conveyors of the demonstration have expressed readiness to hit the street today, in what is expected to pull a massive turnout.

Since May, the crusaders have been exploring ways of ensuring that their protest on social media is felt by hitting the street. The #FixTheCountry movement is one which focuses on the demands of more jobs, no corruption, fewer taxes, better education, good standard of living, etc.

A conveyor of the group said, all COVID19 protocols will be in place, especially wearing of nose mask and social distancing.

Meanwhile, the police have given assurance of maximum protection during the demonstration.

Accra Regional Police (PRO), DSP Rose Afia Tenge says, “the protesters have been reminded to stick to their agreed routes. All the process have been finalised and now the road is cleared for the protest.

“So come, Wednesday, August 4, the police will be providing the maximum security for the organisers and the demonstrators to hit the street as per the Public Order Act and so interms of manpower, we are ready and prepared for this coming event as we indicated earlier.”
