GPL: STRIKE terminates kit sponsorship with Great Olympics over breach of contract

Ghana Premier League side Great Olympics have lost their kit sponsorship deal with STRIKE for breach of contract, GHANASoccernet can report.

The Wonder Club signed a three-year deal with the Portuguese sports kit manufacturing firm in September 2019 but could not execute their part of the contract.

But the capital-based club could not fulfill their part of the contract which required them to sell 1,000 replica jerseys.

The local representative for STRIKE, Club Consult Africa, have remained tight-lipped on the issue.

But an unnamed source told GHANASoccernet: ”Great Olympics couldn’t fulfill their part of the sponsorship agreement. They were supposed to sell 1000 replicas to merit all the items we gave them for free.

”They could not even sell 500 so they breached the contract and now they have to pay for all the items given to them for free.”

Last Friday, 20 November 2020, Great Olympics wore an brandless kit in their 3-0 win over Legon Cities FC at the Accra Sports Stadium.
