The Speaker of Parliament, Alban Bagbin reiterated that starting from tomorrow, Saturday, March 6, 2021, the Parliament will kickoff their vaccination exercise.

He affirmed that all members and staff must be present to partake in the vaccination activity. He however stated that, only members who had received the vaccine in their constituencies are excluded from the exercise.

As part of the vaccination being carried out across Ghana, two thousand (2,000) doses of the coronavirus vaccine this week, was apportioned to the Parliament

Bagbin therefore explained to the House the importance of that vaccine. As it’s primary use is to squash the transmission rate, and also to curb mobility and mortality associated with the virus.

In the explanation, he said that the legislature surpassed members of parliament because it included parliamentary staff, support staff, and the four children of members of the Parliament in accordance with the law.

He said it is the responsibility of the legislature to cater for the health of the MPs and their families, including their spouses.
