Ato forson begins consultations on government’s new economy transformation programme

The Minister for Finance, Dr Cassiel Ato Forson, has begun consultations with key government ministries as part of efforts to advance the government’s New Economy transformational programme.

The consultations are aimed at engaging ministries on the vision, priorities and implementation strategies of the programme, which seeks to transform Ghana’s economic structure and create a more productive, resilient and sustainable economy.

Dr Ato Forson is expected to use the engagements to gather inputs from various sectors of government and ensure that the programme reflects the country’s development priorities.

The initiative is also expected to strengthen coordination among ministries and promote the effective implementation of policies designed to stimulate economic growth, improve productivity and create opportunities for Ghanaians.

The Finance Minister’s consultations form part of broader government efforts to lay the foundation for a transformed economy driven by innovation, investment, technology and efficient use of national resources.

Further engagements with other key stakeholders are expected as government works towards translating the New Economy vision into concrete policies and programmes.
