Hustle Culture: Are young Ghanaians working hard or simply burning out

Written by; Regina Bless

The idea of “hustle” has become deeply embedded in the lives of many young Ghanaians. From full-time jobs to side businesses, freelancing and online work, many young people are constantly looking for additional sources of income.

While hard work is important, the pressure to always be productive can become unhealthy.

Some young people feel guilty when they rest because social media constantly presents success stories of people who appear to be working around the clock.

The reality is that the human body and mind need rest. Working without adequate recovery can lead to exhaustion, poor health and reduced productivity.

The goal should not simply be to work harder, but to work smarter while creating a sustainable balance between earning a living and enjoying life.
