Immigration Service arrests 1,055, rescues 662 children in anti-trafficking operation

The Ghana Immigration Service has arrested 1,055 West African nationals and rescued 662 children during an intelligence-led operation targeting suspected human trafficking syndicates.

The operation, conducted across the Greater Accra and Ashanti Regions, focused on networks allegedly involved in trafficking and exploiting foreign nationals, including children, for forced begging.

The arrests and rescues form part of efforts by the Immigration Service to disrupt organised trafficking activities and protect vulnerable persons from exploitation.

Authorities are expected to continue intelligence-driven operations to identify and dismantle syndicates involved in human trafficking and related abuses.
