Impossible missions become history with commitment — Head Coach of the Black Stars, Carlos Queiroz to Black Stars

Head Coach of the Black Stars, Carlos Queiroz, has challenged the players to embrace sacrifice, humility, and discipline ahead of the country’s opening match at the 2026 FIFA World Cup, insisting that talent alone will not earn the Black Stars global respect.

With less than 25 days remaining before Ghana faces the Panama national football team in Toronto on June 17, the Portuguese coach delivered a strong motivational message to his squad as preparations intensify for the tournament in Canada, Mexico, and the United States.

“The world will only respect us when our commitment, humility, sacrifice, and mentality are bigger than our talent,” Queiroz said in a message shared by the Ghana Football Association.

The Black Stars coach said great national teams were not built by words but by players willing to “suffer, fight, and give everything for the badge and for the dreams of their fans.”

“Every training session, every duel, every sprint and pass, every small detail matters now,” he stated.

“To be present, to participate, will not be enough — our mission is to elevate the reputation, pride, and prestige of Ghana football to a level never seen before.”

Ghana will make its fifth World Cup appearance at the 2026 tournament and has been drawn in Group L alongside Panama, the England national football team, and the Croatia national football team.

The Black Stars will face England in Boston before taking on Croatia in Philadelphia in their remaining group matches.

Queiroz urged the players to remain united and hungry, saying “impossible missions become history” when teams are fully committed to a common goal.
