Mother of four girls seeks justice after being allegedly abused by father

A mother in Gomoa Dominase, in the Gomoa East District of the Central Region, is calling on authorities to ensure justice and protection for her four daughters following allegations of sexual abuse involving their father.

Antoinette Boakye said the situation came to light after she returned home in April to check on her children. She had earlier left the matrimonial home following a disagreement with her husband, 44-year-old Emmanuel Ekumfi.

Mrs Boakye said she was devastated when she discovered that her four daughters, aged 12, 8, 6 and 4, had allegedly been abused. She further alleged that the children suffered injuries and were threatened by their father to prevent them from speaking about what had happened.

The matter was reported to the Millennium City District Police Command. The alleged suspect was subsequently arrested and brought before the Akweley Magistrate Court in Kasoa.

However, the mother says the ongoing legal proceedings have created serious financial difficulties for her. She currently works in Kumasi and has to make repeated trips to Kasoa whenever the case is scheduled for hearing.

She is now urging the authorities to take steps to speed up the case while ensuring the safety and wellbeing of the children.

Mrs Boakye is also appealing for the girls to receive appropriate medical care, counselling and other forms of support as the investigation and court process continue.

The allegations have not yet been determined by the court.
