Motorbike crash in Assin Fosu kills immigration officer, critically injures police officer

An Immigration Officer, identified as Amoakoh and popularly known as Ahuoden, has died in a motorbike crash at Assin Fosu in Ghana’s Central Region.

A Police officer attached to the Central North Regional Police Command, who was riding the motorbike, was also seriously injured and remains in critical condition.

The two were reportedly travelling from Finest Pup towards the Assin Fosu Main Lorry Station when the motorbike veered off the road and crashed.

According to reports, Amoakoh was riding as a pillion passenger at the time of the accident. Bystanders who witnessed the crash quickly came to their aid and transported both victims to a health facility.

However, Amoakoh was pronounced dead upon arrival.

The Police officer reportedly suffered fractures to his left arm and left leg and is currently receiving medical treatment at the facility.

Personnel from the Central North Regional Motor Traffic and Transport Department (MTTD) later visited the crash scene. The damaged motorbike was taken away for examination as investigations into the cause of the accident continue.

The deceased’s body has been deposited at the morgue while further procedures are being carried out.
