NYA CEO warns youth against sharing nude photos and videos online

The Chief Executive Officer of the National Youth Authority (NYA), Osman Ayariga, has urged young people to refrain from recording or sharing nude photos and videos, warning that such content could have serious implications for their future.

He advised the youth to exercise caution when sharing intimate material with partners, noting that content intended to remain private could later become public and affect their reputation, especially if they eventually assume leadership or other high-profile positions.

Speaking to journalists on the sidelines of the National Youth Parliament, Ayariga encouraged young people to avoid creating and circulating explicit content, stressing that the consequences could go beyond their private lives.

“People should put a stop to sharing their naked videos and photos with people. You have no idea what the future holds and the office that you will find yourself in the future. Sharing such information will haunt you in the future. Let us put a stop to it; it won’t help us in any way,” he said.

The NYA CEO further called for responsible use of digital platforms, particularly when handling private information and personal content.

He cautioned that material shared privately could eventually find its way into the public domain, potentially damaging an individual’s reputation and future career prospects.

Ayariga therefore encouraged the youth to develop responsible digital habits and think carefully about the long-term consequences before creating or sharing intimate content online.
