Passengers urged to speak up against driver indiscipline

Passengers have been encouraged to speak up against driver indiscipline and play an active role in promoting safety on Ghana’s roads.

Simba Wiredu, Deputy Director of Corporate Affairs at the National Road Safety Authority (NRSA), made the call as part of a road safety awareness campaign.

According to her, passengers should feel empowered to politely challenge unsafe or indisciplined behaviour by drivers rather than remaining silent.

She stressed that passengers have an important role to play in promoting responsible driving and helping to prevent road crashes.

The call comes amid continued efforts to improve road safety and encourage responsible behaviour among road users. Passengers are therefore being urged to remain alert during journeys and raise concerns when drivers engage in conduct that could put lives at risk.

The NRSA continues to advocate for greater cooperation among drivers, passengers and other road users in creating safer roads across the country.
