Paul Afoko pledges to reorganise and unite NPP at the grassroots

A former National Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Paul Afoko, has pledged to reorganise and strengthen the party from the grassroots if elected National Chairman.

Speaking to party supporters, Mr Afoko stressed the need for a comprehensive restructuring of the NPP to rebuild its organisational foundation, unite members and position the party to recapture political power.

He argued that the NPP must move beyond internal divisions and ensure that all members are treated equally, regardless of their preferred candidates during previous internal elections.

According to him, the party must recognise that there is only one NPP and work towards creating an organisation where every region and constituency receives a fair share of opportunities and attention.

Mr Afoko said he would enter office without a list of enemies or individuals he intends to punish, insisting that his leadership would focus on reconciliation, fairness and unity.

“I will come into office with no enemies. Nobody that I want to punish,” he said, stressing that members who may have disagreed with him in the past could still work together for the collective interest of the party.

He further called for an end to factionalism within the NPP, saying members should not be divided based on their support for different candidates during internal contests.

Mr Afoko believes that a united and properly organised party will be better positioned to recapture power and sustain its political influence.

He also promised to ensure fairness in the distribution of opportunities and responsibilities, arguing that no part of the country should be disadvantaged at the expense of another.

His comments form part of his campaign to return to the national leadership of the NPP, with a focus on reorganisation, reconciliation, inclusiveness and strengthening the party’s grassroots structures.
