President Mahama Dissolves Governing Boards of BOST, VALCO, CBG, GNPC and Five Others
President John Dramani Mahama has dissolved the governing boards of eight state-owned enterprises and institutions, including the Bulk Oil Storage and Transportation Company Limited (BOST), Volta Aluminium Company (VALCO), Consolidated Bank Ghana (CBG), and the Ghana National Petroleum Corporation (GNPC).
The dissolution, which takes immediate effect, also affects the boards of five other public institutions.
The directive was contained in a statement from the Presidency, which did not provide reasons for the decision but indicated that the move forms part of efforts to reconstitute the boards in line with the President’s vision for enhanced efficiency and accountability in the management of state institutions.
The statement further directed all affected board members to cease acting in their respective capacities and to hand over any official assets in their possession to the relevant authorities.
New boards are expected to be constituted and announced in due course.
