Remarkable improvements in passport service delivery

Ghana’s passport service delivery is witnessing significant improvements, with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs expanding access to passport application services across the country.

A key development is the establishment of seven Passport Application Centres in regions that previously had limited access to passport services. These centres are located in Bole, Bolgatanga, Dambai, Damongo, Nalerigu, Sefwi Wiawso and Techiman.

Since the opening of the seven centres, a total of 13,098 chip-embedded passports have been printed, highlighting the growing demand for the decentralised service.

The expansion means residents in the Upper East, Ahafo, Bono East, Oti, Savannah and Western North regions no longer have to travel to other regions to apply for passports.

The figures reflect the government’s efforts to bring essential public services closer to citizens while improving efficiency and convenience in passport acquisition.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs says the initiative forms part of its broader commitment to resetting and serving Ghanaians better, with more accessible and responsive passport services across the country.
