Shell And Chevron Sign Preliminary Agreement With Ghana Over South Deepwater Tano Oil Block

Ghana has reached a preliminary agreement with energy giants Shell and Chevron over production rights for the South Deepwater Tano Cape Three Points oil and gas block.

The agreement, which is currently non-binding, comes as Ghana undertakes a broader review of its oil and gas sector.

The development could become significant for Ghana’s energy industry, as the involvement of two major international oil companies signals continued interest in the country’s petroleum resources.

However, the agreement is not yet a final production deal. Further negotiations and reviews will have to take place before any binding arrangement is concluded.

The development comes at a time when Ghana is looking at ways to strengthen its energy sector and maximise the benefits of its natural resources for the country’s economy.
