Terminal 2 renovation to be completed by December 2026 – Ghana Airports Company Limited
The Ghana Airports Company Limited (GACL) says renovation works on Terminal 2 of the Accra International Airport are expected to be completed by December 2026.
The $15 million renovation project is aimed at upgrading Terminal 2 to accommodate both domestic and international flights, helping to ease the growing passenger congestion currently being experienced at Terminal 3.
The Managing Director of GACL, Yvonne Nana Afriyie Opare, disclosed this while briefing members of Parliament’s Roads and Transportation Committee during an oversight visit to the airport.
She said the project remains on schedule and expressed confidence that the renovated terminal would be ready by the end of this year.
“By December 2026, we will finish the whole work on Terminal 2, and His Excellency the President will come and commission it,” she said.
The renovation forms part of efforts by GACL to expand passenger handling capacity at the airport and improve the overall travel experience by enabling Terminal 2 to serve both domestic and international passengers.
