The Rising Cost of Living: How are ordinary Ghanaians coping?
Written by; Regina Bless
The rising cost of living continues to put pressure on households across Ghana. From food and transportation to rent, utility bills and healthcare, many ordinary Ghanaians are finding it increasingly difficult to make ends meet.
For workers whose incomes have not increased significantly, the situation means making difficult choices. Some families are reducing the quantity and quality of food they buy, while others are taking on additional jobs or relying on loans and support from relatives.
The situation is particularly challenging for young people and low-income households, who often have limited savings to fall back on.
While government policies aimed at stabilising the economy can provide relief in the long term, citizens also need practical measures that can reduce the immediate pressure on household budgets.
