Louisiana Prosecutors have dropped rape and kidnapping charges against New Orleans rapper Mystikal. The charges were dropped almost two years after he was released from jail on who was released from jail on a $3 million bond.

According to ABC News, the 2017 indictment against the “Shake It Fast” rapper was dropped by a Caddo Parish grand jury who returned a no true bill clearing him.

The Parish district attorney’s office released a statement, saying, “Additional evidence and information were discovered, and the case was resubmitted to this second Grand Jury in the interest of justice.”

Mystikal, whose real name is Michael Lawrence Tyler, now age 50, surrendered to authorities back in August 2017 after he learned there was a warrant out for his arrest on rape and kidnapping charges, based on a sexual assault accusation that allegedly took place at a Shreveport casino in October 2016.

Tyler spent 1½ years in jail before being released in February 2019 on a $3 million bond.
