SZA fans received a pleasant surprise for the holiday weekend.

The TDE songstress returned Thursday night with her new track “Hit Different,” featuring Ty Dolla Sign with production by The Neptunes. But that’s not all, SZA also released the song’s official video which she directed under her birth name Solána. The visual shows SZA in various locations, like in an empty field while covered in red paint; inside a barn surrounded by white farm animals; and a junkyard, where she is joined by Ty Dolla and a group of backup dancers. Toward the end of the video, we see a bikini-clad SZA kneeling on a pommel horse in front of a wall lined with wood scraps.

Though it may sound a little random, the video is striking and pairs perfectly with the smooth, laid back record.

You can watch “Hit Different” via YouTube above and stream it on Apple Music and Spotify.

Back in January, SZA announced her sophomore album—the follow-up to 2017’s Ctrl—would arrive sometime this year. Though she released “The Other Side” with Justin Timberlake in February, SZA has been relatively quiet on the music front. She recently expressed frustration over the delay of her second album, but later clarified her music was not being “held hostage.”

Don’t nobody need to free me Lmao. I’m not held hostage n neither is my music! Me n punch be disagreeing,” she tweeted, referencing TDE label boss Terrence “Punch” Henderson. “… He’s never steered me wrong and I trust God’s timing … I gotta learn it😬 *paaatience paaaatience paaatience is a virtue.”

SZA also linked with Zane Lowe on Apple Music’s New Music Daily to talk about the surprise track.

“I was swimming in my brain about what I wanted to say first, what I wanted to bring energy wise first and I just really — I just stopped trying to like overthink and I just wanted to give people something just to vibe because I have so much stuff that I’m just done holding onto,” SZA said of the song. “So it’s like I don’t even know how any of its gonna take shape or any of that but I’m just done holding on to it and this is the beginning of me just rolling out all my thoughts. I can’t hold onto things because I’m scared everyday forever. That’s how I am. Even today I was crying with mom because I haven’t dropped anything in so long and I just feel like the anxiety and like the crushing… I can’t explain how it feels to me. Sometimes I’m strong enough to just drop something and then two weeks passes and then I’m not strong anymore.”
