Warner Bros. says ‘Wonder Woman 1984’ to premier on Christmas Day

Warner Bros. has announced the highly anticipated Wonder Woman sequel will be hitting theatres on December 25.

The production company had previously earmarked that date for release, however it was in doubt due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Wonder Woman 1984 will also debut on HBO Max on the same day to help people catch the release if they don’t feel comfortable going to a cinema. It will be available to stream for one month before returning return to HBO Max later in 2021 after the home video release window.

The movie will start going through select international theatrical releases from December 16 because it’s opened up to everyone on Christmas Day.

Director Patty Jenkins has spoken about the decision making process of when to release the flick.

“At some point you have to choose to share any love and joy you have to give, over everything else. We love our movie as we love our fans, so we truly hope that our film brings a little bit of joy and reprieve to all of you this holiday season,” she wrote on Twitter.
